Sculptra

Sculptra Aesthetic is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost volume. This treatment stimulates your skin’s natural collagen production to increase overall facial volume through a series of treatments.

What can Sculptra do for me?

Sculptra Aesthetic is used to correct shallow to deep wrinkles and folds on the face caused by fat & bone loss.  Typically Sculptra is used to treat nasal labial folds, hollow cheeks & temples, and to redefine the jawline.  Sculptra is different from other fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane in that it provides a gradual improvement over time by building your own collagen, which will last longer and look more natural.   Sculptra also works by strengthening and thickening the skin to create a more youthful appearance.

What is the treatment like?

Treatment areas are marked and topical numbing is applied before the procedure begins.  Since Sculptra is in liquid form and not a gel like Juvederm or Restylane it can cause swelling.  This swelling only lasts 24 hours or less while the solution is being absorbed.  Patients will receive post care instructions which include a massaging technique 5 times a day for 5 minutes for 5 days to distribute the solution and help prevent nodule formation.  Treatments are administered every 6-8 weeks until series is completed.

When will I see Results?

Results can be seen in as little as 3 months after the first treatment but optimal improvement is seen 6 months after the last treatment.  Once completed results can last 2+ years.

What about combination therapy?

For those who want to take advantage of the long term benefits of Sculptra Aesthetic, but don’t want to wait for results, Sculptra can be safely used in conjunction with other injectables.  Botox, Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma and other fillers and neuro toxins can be injected to give patients the instant lift and fill they desire while waiting for their Sculptra Aesthetic results. Filler can be paired with Sculptra on an ongoing basis as the benefits include replacing the foundation of fat and bone loss with the contouring & line filling benefits.
